Measuring an envelope

To determine the dimensions of the envelope, first note the size of the shortest side, then note the size of the longest side. The measurement unit used should be in inches.

Measuring one window on open side envelope

To determine the dimensions of the window, position the envelope so the flap is pointing upward.
 
First, note the window height and length. To determine the position of the window on the envelope, note its location in relation to the left-hand side and in relation to the bottom of the envelope. The measurement unit used should be in inches.

Measuring two or more windows on open side envelope

To determine the dimensions of the windows, position the envelope so the flap is pointing upward.  

The first window to identify is the one located closest to the bottom fold of the envelope; otherwise, you should select the window on the far left-hand side of the envelope. You should then note the height and length of the window. To determine the position of the window on the envelope, note its location in relation to the left-hand side and in relation to the bottom of the envelope. The measurement unit used should be in inches.
 
Repeat this process for the other windows on the envelope.
